The unique pivoting design of the piVot seating system gives the spinal erector muscles of the lower back constant, repeated, dynamic, stress-free stretching exercise. A slight movement (such as shifting your weight or reaching for the phone or a paper) causes the seat pan to tilt and move with you - effortlessly stretching the muscles on one side, then the other, then the front and back. With no effort there is no fatigue. Stretching a muscle to full extension has enormous benefits. It lengthens the muscle (giving added flexibility) while it aligns, strengthens, and tones muscle fibers; it also tones the fascia and the connective tissue within the muscle and repairs scar tissue. With its unique dynamic action, the piVot seating system turns the eight hour sedentary job into eight hours of stretching therapy and strengthening exercise. The cause of lower back pain becomes the cure.
